It always makes for an awesome Dog-A-Day meeting, when the dog I am photographing for that day is a foster. I do a bit of shelter/rescue/foster pet photography for HeARTs Speak, and it never stops being incredibly rewarding. Kelly from Muttley Crew Cuts is fostering Charlie, and here is some more information about him, from the Springer Rescue posting:
“Charlie is a one-year-old, sweet, wiggly, high-energy boy that came back to ESRA because he is an escape artist. He was adopted by a wonderful family last fall but because of his ability to climb both over and under a chain link fence, they asked that we find another home to ensure Charlie stays safe.
Charlie loves all people and does well with most other dogs. No cats for Charlie, though, as he just wants to chase them. Charlie knows Sit and Stay, but has a hard time with these commands when he’s really excited. Charlie needs additional training on recall, as he thinks it is a game of keep away if he escapes his yard.
Charlie is neutered, microchipped, house trained and up to date on all preventative vaccinations. Charlie rides well in the car either loose or crated. Charlie is a young dog, though, with puppy tendencies and he will counter surf and sometimes get into trouble when left alone in the house.
The perfect Forever Home for Charlie would be with an experienced Springer family who has a securely fenced yard and will continue with his obedience training focusing on recall. Charlie has lots of energy and likes to run and play with the ball. A retired or work-from-home family would be perfect for him. Charlie likes children, but his high energy may be a bit too much for small toddlers.
Charlie is ready to meet his Forever Family today. If you would like to meet him, please fill out an adoption application.”
