  • Professional Photographer Magazine Cover!

We are very honored to have won the Professional Photographer Magazine Cover Contest!

I always thought this would make a great cover. It was an outtake from a Holiday Cover we shot for CityDog Magazine. Although it didn't quite look right for CityDog, I think it looks pretty amazing on the front of Professional Photographer. I could not be more thrilled with this honor!

Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer | Issaquah Dog Photography | Jan-31

What a great end of the first month of Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer. I have learned a lot over the last 31 days which I will probably write a post about and a big recap from this month. I have met some awesome people and some amazing dogs. Today I met Nichi. A red Shiba Inu who also goes by the name, Copperdots Tenichiryoo Zenhai. His owners were super nice and seemed like a fun spontaneous couple. It was a pleasure getting to know them a little. Thank you all for making my last day of the first month of my year long project a total joy!

I’m not gonna lie. I got a crazy late start on this today. My son started swim lessons today (and did awesome btw), and then emails and booking spaces for Smile for a Cure sessions, poof it was 4pm. Well if you live in the Northwest in the winter, you know that 4pm is about dark time. So I raced out with my camera in search of a dog for the day. Walked all through our neighborhood, out on a trail, back to the dog park…think I saw even one dog? NO! So, thankfully I have awesome neighbors and a lot of them have dogs. They were nice enough to take a few minutes and help me out. I love where we live! Here is Kona! He is a sweet sweet love. I am glad it worked out how it did, because Kona is a true sweet heart.

What a great day! Today I met the owner of a great pet blog called You Do What With Your Weiner! Great group of women and a fun way to spend the morning. Definitely easier finding dogs here! I went with the two of them since it’s always hard to leave one out. Today was just a fun, vintagy set they already had there. Hard to resist!

You can also find ‘You Did What with Your Weiner’ on Facebook! Definitely go check them out!

Aren’t they adorable!

Today was no easy task of finding a dog! I went down to Issaquah today because I always see dogs down there. Think I found any? No. Finally I put a post on my Facebook page and had someone meet me. That was fun! I haven’t seen her in a long time so it was awesome to catch up! That is actually the first time that has happened to me. Hmmm. I love the location but Issaquah…where are your dogs today?!

Well today, meet Sunshine! We did a mini session at the old Shell Station. I’ll post some other pics from our mini session this week, but here is the one that is going in Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer! Thank you Sunshine for saving me today!
