  • Professional Photographer Magazine Cover!

We are very honored to have won the Professional Photographer Magazine Cover Contest!

I always thought this would make a great cover. It was an outtake from a Holiday Cover we shot for CityDog Magazine. Although it didn't quite look right for CityDog, I think it looks pretty amazing on the front of Professional Photographer. I could not be more thrilled with this honor!

Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer | Issaquah Dog Photography | Jan-27

Today is a special Dog-A-Day because it is Banjo’s 5th birthday! I cannot believe he is already 5! When we got him, we were remodeling our house so only had sub-floor which made it so much easier/nicer to potty train him! Now he’s been through a total remodel, the selling of our house and move to a new area, and a newborn baby to share time with. He is the silliest dopiest pup of the two. But he also has a very lazy side as seen in this picture! Banjo likes to follow everyone around and turn right in front of them, lick anything within tongue distance and jump on laps. He dislikes wood floors and air blown in his face (any air…fan, people, wind). His favorite past time is chewing on Bailey’s ears. He’s been a fantastic addition to our family and I am glad he got to be our Dog-A-Day dog today!

Happy Birthday buddy, we love you!

Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer | Newcastle Dog Photography | Jan-26

How beautiful is this dog? Her name is Orchid and she is a Formosan Mountain Dog. A beautiful name for a gorgeous dog! She was in for knee surgery at Newport Hills Animal Hospital in Newcastle. She had a few minutes before she got her knee fixed to come out and take a picture with me. If you are looking for a vet, you can’t go wrong with any doctor at this hospital. They have taken care of both Bailey & Banjo since they were puppies and have had the best care! They were the first people that came to mind recently, when Bailey ate a bunch of grapes! We had to leave her overnight but I knew that if she wasn’t at home, that this was the next best place for her to be. She’s back home now and we are thankful for all the helpful people that work there.

Thank you Orchid for taking a few to pose for me before your surgery. I am super happy to have met you!

Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer | West Seattle Dog Photography | Jan-25

My project, Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer is usually just for ONE dog per day. But these two have a special story and so it seemed best to keep them together and make them both Dog-A-Day Dogs!

Moss and Tuck came to Springer Rescue in August after their owner passed away and family couldn’t care for them. They are a bonded pair of senior Springer Spaniels who are both retired hunting dogs and are still very active considering their age. I couldn’t even imagine going through your whole life with a buddy and then being torn from them because of sadly, a loss like they suffered. They were very lucky to have been fostered by Kelly Rothenbuhler, the owner of Muttley Crew Cuts. She says, Moss has gone deaf so he can no longer be let off leash, but they are the sweetest most snuggly boys! Moss gives the BEST kisses! When we found out they had been adopted, they had to become our Dog-A-Day! Congratulations Moss and Tuck, I know Kelly misses you, but it sounds like you have the perfect home, and are close by for lots of visits.

I love a happy ending!

Dog-A-Day for Canine Cancer | Centralia Dog Photography | Jan-23

It’s great spending time with friends. It’s even more fun when they share the same career as you. We took a little family road trip down to Centralia and stopped by our friend Amanda’s studio. She owns Mandi McDougall Photography and this was the first time I got to check it out! We had a great time and she even let me borrow it for a few while I got today’s Dog-A-Day! Meet Cinnamon Foo-Foo. Such a funny name! I couldn’t fit it all in the logo, but thankfully they call her a lot of different names, so Cinnamon works! If you are ever in the Centralia area and want family pictures or have a newborn you’d like photographed, definitely check out her work!

Thanks again Amanda for a wonderful day!
