I rented the new 70-200mm lens for my trip to Alaska and although I did use it quite a bit, I haven’t had a ton of time to go through my pictures. But today I took it out to the dog park before I had to return it and let me just say I am in love! I love how some of the drops are in focus and some are not, I love the color, and of course I love this, because this is my girl Bailey. Some day I am going to have to get some pics up of our boy Banjo because he is hysterical. Some day…I hope I can afford to stop renting this lens and have it as my own.
This is one fun lab. She has so many quirky looks and smiles, it cracks me up every time I see her. She also has a hysterical smile, but she was not cooperating with me today…someday I’ll get it and I will definitely post it. I decided to throw it all together on a storyboard (which are now available to purchase for your sessions) and I think it pretty much sums up our afternoon.
CityDog Magazine is holding a cover dog model search. There are five events and this one took place at the West Seattle Thriftway. I had the pleasure of shooting it that day which was a task in itself considering it was 90+ degrees which is unusually hot here. I met a lot of great people and of course a lot of great dogs. Definitely check the site for the next few that are coming up so you can go and enter and see if your dog will be the next model for the cover of CityDog! The next one is at PAWSwalk on Sept. 11th. Here was one shot from that day that was an outtake, but I love it all the same. Great dog and a wonderful owner! Good luck to all the participants and thanks for coming out!
It reminds me of my girl Bailey, she loves running through the tall grass at Marymoor. She’s not really in to fetching balls or sticks, which is odd for a lab, but she’ll do it if there’s a field of tall grass around. It’s as if she puts up with it just so she can feel it run across her fur. I will always remember her when I see this pic. She looks so joyous and I am glad I was able to capture it.
